About me
Dominique is a freelance theatre director, writer and facilitator. She is passionate about two areas of work: exploring fresh stances on classical texts, including Early Modern and Ancient Greek drama, and developing new works of musical theatre. She believes in the total experience of theatre as a spectacle, particularly through the transcendent power of music and movement on stage, whilst maintaining the intellectual and emotional heart of a text. Dominique trained at the Orange Tree Theatre and St Mary’s University, completing an MA in Theatre Directing. She originally specialised in classical drama at the University of Kent, undertaking a year abroad at the University of California Berkeley. Her background is also in professional singing and dance, training as a musical theatre performer at the London School of Musical Theatre in 2015. Dominique recently directed Precious Little Talent by Ella Hickson at the Orange Tree Theatre.Represented by Christina Shepherd: http://www.shepherdmanagement.co.uk/creatives/chapman-dominique/

★★★★★ "If the directors taking part in the Directors’ Festival at The Orange Tree are the future of theatre, then we can expect some exciting times ahead. In the hands of Dominique Chapman, Precious Little Talent, a fast, fast-talking comedy about transatlantic relations, shines as bright as New York’s Chrysler Building." The Reviews Hub
