About me
I am a recent graduate from the University of Huddersfield graduating with a BA Hons in Costume Design with Textiles with a specialism in printed textiles. I have some experience which I have listed below, however I feel I need to gain as much experience as possible and therefore I would hope you would consider helping me with this by working with your Company. I'm extremely enthusiastic, committed and willing to take on any task that is given to me. As a person I aim to be happy, confident and approachable. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new skills. I aspire to expand my knowledge of the history of costume and costume design to enable me to progress.Skills
Highlights
-
Recently worked on a Manchester based TV Drama Series to be viewed on NBC on a new TV drama series called The Endz produced by SDMC Productions where I was Head of Wardrobe/Set Design. (2010)
Assistant Paper Wig Maker on a production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, MMU School of Theatre, Manchester. Costumes designed by Lara Booth (2010)
I was wardrobe assistant and dresser for a production of Copacabana at the Pendle Hippodrome, Colne. (2010)
I was the costume designer and head of wardrobe on a ballet production of Sinbad the Sailor this summer (2010) which was a collaboration between myself, The Hammond School and BBC's Young Composer of the Year Jonathan Woolgar from Chethams School of Music Manchester. This has given me working experience to be able to co-ordinate all that a performance entails. In total over 50 costumes were designed and made in a very short space of time. This was all done whist finishing my degree in Costume Design with Textiles.
I was a dresser for Awesome Autumn Burlesque fashion show Ages of Elegance in December 2008 and so I have some experience of working backstage with models and designers.
I also assist backstage at a local dance schools summer performance working with children aged 3 to 18. As a trained dancer I am fully aware of the demands required in working under pressure with costume changes and the organisation required.
