About me
Technical Manager, Production Manager and Lighting DesignerA self-motivated and well-organized person, who is proactive and enthusiastic about lighting, sound and AV for theatre and live events. Always willing to go the extra mile to achieve the highest standards, with a mature attitude and a keen eye for detail. Jamie is very technically minded, and has had many valuable experiences within the theatre events industry that have contributed to his wide range of skills and knowledge.
Past notable design and event credits include: Lighting technician for OneDance UK commission Neon Romance for BBC iplayer, Barbican theatre’s Petrol Headz, Walk This Way in partnership with Plymouth City Council and Identity parade in partnership with The Box. Production support with the Barbican Theatre’s Giant puppet parades across the city in removed
LX design credits for: Solitude (Promnesia dance theatre 2010) The World at Your Feet (large-scale outdoor promenade production Barbican Theatre 2012), Tom Boy Blues (Mars Tarrab, UK tour and Edinburgh Fringe 2011) Opposition (Hannah Silva UK tour and Edinburgh Fringe 2011) Trouble and Strife (triple bill of female choreographed dance celebrating international women’s day. South West tour 2012)
In 2014 Jamie engaged with a lighting design laboratory in ‘Le Trident’ theatre in Cherbourg hosted by Dance Dialogues. This enabled Jamie and Jane Castree (choreographer) to develop a new contemporary piece with support and mentoring from Russell Maliphant and Michael Hulls. The piece, which was created and performed at Falmouth AMATA in 2015, had emphasis on both the choreography but also the artistic contribution of the lighting and technical aspects.
Jamie is motivated by conceptual lighting design and loves to challenge the boundaries of contemporary design with the intention of discovering new ways to express material and innovate how light can be exploited for dynamic impact.
