About me
I am a hardworking individual, I can adapt my working knowledge to any given situation. I have a excellent level of timekeeping and I can work well in any given team. I have the confidence to provide opinions and new concepts to a piece where needed. I am a kind and caring, and a person who is approachable and a friendly face within a team. I am also an individual who can also be authoritative in certain situations, where needed.
During my studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I have gained a lot of skills which include Technical Training as well as Stage and Event Management. I was fortunate to go into a position straight after graduation, working as Stage Manager with Theatr Na Nog and going straight onto the role of Company Stage Manager (on Book), for Sleeping Beauty at the Palace Theatre, Newark. Although my Training was in the theatre industry, my skills and training are highly transferable for the role in which I am applying.
As a stage manager you need to be calm and collected, you need to be approachable when others around you are struggling. It's important that you come across as level headed but yet behind the scenes you need to ensure that everything is running smoothly. The number one skill is to ensure all members of the company are safe and any worries or concerns can be answered. A Stage Manager has to have leadership skills and provide all up to date policies and risk assessments, they need to be calm under pressure and have the ability to highly compassionate, yet have the ability to discipline where needs must.
