About me
22//Liverpool, UK
I am a conscientious, enthusiastic and organised individual with a great passion for theatre. A recent graduate of the University of York I am ready to use the skills and knowledge I have acquired over the past couple of years and start to focus fully on building a career in this industry. I am creative and energised and prepared to tackle any task handed to me. Alongside finishing my A Levels and completing my degree in Management, I have spent my holidays working and volunteering in various roles for theatre, film and television production offices. My experience has mainly taken place in film and television working on the floor as a runner as well as in production offices in administrative and assistant roles. During the summer of 2015 I worked as assistant to the production manager of the Dukes Theatre in Lancaster and learned a great deal from this experience. Not only was I assisting and deputising for the production manager but also supporting the artistic director and cast during rehearsals and the run of the show as well as working as a crew member during the 7 week outdoor theatre production.
Hooked from an early age I have been fortunate to have attended many performances in regional theatres, the West End, Stratford upon Avon and even Broadway as part of a sixth form drama trip, the highlight of which was seeing Phillip Seymour Hoffman in ‘Death of a Salesman’. More recently I returned to New York and delighted in seeing my favourite play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, ‘You Can’t Take It With You’ a hilarious comedic play from the 1930s starring James Earl Jones and Rose Byrne which I had previously enjoyed in Manchester five years ago
Like many keen theatregoers I have enjoyed taking part in amateur productions firstly at school, including Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, and My Fair Lady, in my final year taking lead roles in both Calamity Jane and Hamlet. At University I am an active member of the highly competitive Drama Society working on and offstage to present a range of productions including Michael Frayn’s ‘Audience’ and Goetz’s adaptation of the Henry James novel ‘The Heiress’. One of the highlights of my time at university was when Penelope Wilton came to do a workshop for the drama society!
