About me
I have loved fashion and costume from an early age, especially film costumes, some of the most inspiring productions I have seen include; Billy Elliot The Musical, Les Miserables, The Patriot (2000), Marie Antoinette (2006) and older films such as It Happened One Night (1935) and Sabrina (1954).
I specifically enjoy pattern cutting and tailoring as I love the creative freedom and the magic of seeing a garment come alive!
I'm an avid reader of a wide variety of things, such as historical novels and biographies, as well as fashion magazines such as i-D and Dazed & Confused. I find these both inspire my creativity and broaden my cultural knowledge.
I enjoy going to visit Art Galleries and Museums, especially for inspiration and research purposes; my most loved being the Victoria & Albert Museum and visiting English Heritage or National Trust properties.
Music has been a large part of my life, both to listen to and performing. I listen to and watch a wide variety of music from Classical to Metal, Folk to Big Band, Accoustic to Blues. I have been a member of two choirs and through this I gained my Grade 5 in Music Theory and Classical Singing.
