About me
As a Costume and Performance Design graduate of the Arts University Bournemouth, winner of the Queen’s Anniversary Prize 2017, and MA Fine Art, I have achieved over a decade of higher education in the Arts. At the start of 2019, following my education, I launched a bespoke millinery brand, Morgan & Worth Millinery, in addition to continuing my practice as a milliner for theatre and film. Attention to detail and unique problem solving are key assets of my artistic and analytical approach.Additional skills:
Millinery
Felt, straw, paper, sinamay, silk abaca, buckram, wired and fosshape headwear. Historial recreations, contemporary pieces and elaborate structural headwear suitable for pantos and fantasy. Knowledge in blocking, molding and stiffening. Flower making, fabric and feather manipulation for adornments. Large knowledge of sourcing resources.
Garment Construction & Handling
Hand, domestic and industrial machine sewing. Males/Females block pattern drafting, cutting, and draping on the stand for females. Padding out mannequins. Custom fittings and pattern adaptation. Custom and historical corset. Alterations on sourced/hired garments. Breakdown and dyeing. Limited in tailoring.
Design & Various
Designing, styling and sourcing. Wardrobe assistance and quick changes. Costume continuity. Set dressing. Thrives in group and independent work. Understanding of script breakdown. Proficiency in drawing, painting, printmaking, digital photography and photoshop.
