About me
I have several years experience working on many shows, in many different theatres, including fit ups & get outs, throughout London’s West End. I have worked as stage crew &, many times, as a flyman. Since 2015, when I was employed as Automation Operator on The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime, I have been pursuing work in automation.Relevant
Experience
January 2018 - January 2020 MATILDA THE MUSICAL, Cambridge Theatre
Automation No3
Duties included:
Operating show using Stage Tech Acrobat G6, running Chameleon software.
There were 78 cues throughout the show plus follow ons & the rig features 34
Axis, 5 IO Axis & 10 Macros.
When not operating the show I was working the stage plot. Liaising over comms with
the automation team, stage management, LX & stage departments, to ensure the safe & smooth running of the show. On stage I also perform cues, with the help of the stage management & stage departments. Such as spading & de-spading trucks & moving unused trucks to storage.
Weekly maintenance of the automation rig. Including, checking nuts & bolts on all moving parts & motors from the trusses above the stage to the chains & motors for the risers below the stage. Plus motors & tracks for our belt driven trucks.
We also carried out regular checks on safe edges on our risers & repair / replace when necessary.
We also carried out regular checks of our pneumatics system. Cleaning out the compressor & changing it’s oil & checking for air leaks throughout the system & repairing / replacing when necessary.
