About me
Currently working in the interior design industry as a decorative artist. This has given to me an insight into the production of many decorative finishes to a very high standard. I am actively on the look out for interesting opportunities as a scenic artist, scenic painter or set designer. I want to develop the skills gained so far in my career and on the scenic painting courses (wood, box sets, metal, brick and backcloth) I completed in 2017. Looking forwards to a new challenge! My most recent work in theatre as a scenic painter was on Absent (dreamthinkspeak, Shoreditch Town Hall, August 2015). This was a great opportunity to be part of a fast paced creative build. In the past I worked in both national and private theatres in Spain for five years. Doing this I learned skills in technical work back-stage, especially in the area of prop making and mechanical scenery. Additionally I have skills in carpentry, metalwork and painting.
Immediately after the Absent job in 2015 I completed a creative model making job for the performance artist Rana Hamadeh shown at Nottingham Contemporary and in London at The Showroom.
During 2013 to 2015 I worked as art assistant to the sculptor Phillip King. In particular I helped him to prepare and construct work for his retrospective display at Tate Britain. It was a fantastic experience working alongside the artist and living the pure creative process.
From 2010 until 2015 I worked by Zadok Ben-David’s art studio, assisting him with many art installations, exhibitions and individual sculptures. In this position my principle role was to draw, fabricate and finish sculptures. During this time I leaned a lot about how the commercial art market works and the full process of producing an exhibition.
Over the years I have continued to develop my own artistic projects. I mainly produce sculpture in cast concrete, wood and metal. My work was last exhibited in London in 2017 at the Concept Space and the Ply Gallery at Hornsey Town Hall, Previous exhibitions have included the Lights of Soho Gallery in 2016, Whitechapel Ideas Store 2014, and the Robert Burns Museum, Scotland 2014. I also take part every six months in Camberwell Open Studios.
