Marketing Manager of the Hackney Empire duties include:
Responsible for the management, development and execution of the marketing strategy for the Hackney Empire and its program, including three months as interim Head of Marketing. Key elements of this role include:
oManaging a £300,000 marketing spend budget and allocating it into three key areas; Show related expenditure (flyers, adverts), Core expenditure (season brochures, regular advertising) and non-show specific (website, audience research and development). Providing regular reports to the Chief Executive.
oPlaying a key role in decision making around the forthcoming programme and agreeing targets with the Chief Executive and the Head of Programming.
oRecruitment and management of the marketing department (full time: Audience Development Officer, Press Officer, Marketing Assistant), freelance casual staff and overseeing and supporting the Box Office operation
oDevising season and production campaigns and identifying potential audience markets for all elements of the repertoire.
oProviding copy for in house productions and artwork direction/print management for all publicity and administration of the website
oExecuting direct marketing campaigns, by mail, email, telephone, utilising both in-house generated data (Databox) and working with external providers for the acquisition of data.
oManaging the Audience Development Strategy in progressing the Friends schemes and loyalty ladders.
Marketing Manager of the Warehouse Theatre: Duties include:
Devise, develop and oversee press and marketing strategy and Theatre policy.
Consult with artistic director and assist in programming touring productions that reflect the theatre's artistic policy.
Provide support and advice to producers over production matters and marketing.
Target marketing for in house and visiting productions.
Develop company brand.
Arrange distribution of publicity material.
Purchase advertising space, prepare copy and design advertisements.
Target membership through databases.
Oversee press releases.
Maintain day to day contact with local press and liaise with Press agents.
Write copy for programmes and season brochures.
Design posters and flyers for productions using Adobe Photoshop.
Providing photography, poster and flyer design for various projects and other press and marketing opportunities. Also advising clients on appropriate strategy for marketing campaigns. Clients include: Theatre 503, Pentameters Theatre, Richmond Music Trust, Arden school of Theatre, RDC Productions, I'm a Camera Theatre and the Warehouse Theatre.
