About me
My name is Steve and I am currently the sole Administrator/Office Manager at Court Theatre Training Company; a small, privately-funded drama school based in an off-West End theatre in the heart of Hoxton.Ideally, I am looking to move away for academia as I feel I am much better suited to a role that will allow me to flex my creative muscle a bit more. I would also like to draw on and utilise my BA (Hons) Media Writing degree to full effect. Therefore, I am seeking a role that would allow me to integrate my extensive administrative skills and experience with a fundamentally creative and arts-based vocation.
I am a hard-working, self-motivated individual with excellent organisation and communication skills. I am extremely personable and pride myself on being polite and professional with a positive and approachable demeanour. I work well under-pressure and can adapt quickly and easily to any vocational environment. I am able to take initiative and handle projects independently as well as offer support to a greater team. I will engage full-heartedly in all tasks and duties of the role and will always be grateful for further responsibility as and when this is given.
Additional skills:
In my current role I am first and foremost the initial point of contact for all students, staff and external sources such as directors, designers, suppliers, etc. It is my responsibility to find quick and effective solutions to any queries or concerns individuals may have and provide on hand and continual support via email, telephone or face-to-face. I also assist the Principal and Assistant Director of Studies in the day-to-day running of the training company and offer administrative support to the theatre where we are based.
It is my responsibility to ensure the organisation functions efficiently at an operational level and the list of general duties I am currently accountable for includes but is not limited to:
•Banking, invoicing and the monitoring of petty cash
•PA to the Principal and Assistant Director of Studies
•Handling incoming and outgoing mail
•Updating and distributing staff contracts - tutors and directors
•Organising and updating databases and filing systems
•Organising and minuting staff meetings
•Monitoring and ordering office supplies and stationary
•Ensuring the office is consistently tidy and adheres to Health & Safety procedure
•Writing and distributing the pastoral and alumni newsletter
The role has also allowed me the opportunity to gain experience in marketing through assisting with the production and distribution of promotional literature in addition to
updating the company's website and mailing. It is also my responsibility to monitor and update social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter in order to generate and expand Court Theatre Training Company's online presence
Additional information:
I am keen to remain in Central London so would be seeking employment in and around the city.
I currently live in Stoke Newington and am willing to travel.
