About me
I am a theatre maker who has worked as a devising performer, movement director and creating workshops. I hold an MA in Shakespeare from King’s College (which involved a lot of stage time on practical staging at the Globe), followed by two years at Lecoq in Paris, which lay the foundation for my attraction to both text and movement.Lecoq approaches theatre almost without words: through gesture, character, the use of the space. It focuses on the use of space, body, ensemble, creating from nothing and constantly explored devising with actors, which is my approach to theatre making, even with text.
I am passionate about vibrant stagings of classic texts. I was associate movement director on an all- female production of Richard III at the Wales Millennium Centre. With my own company Boileroom, I directed and devised a piece which received the Samuel Beckett Award, enjoying a two week run at the Barbican.
As a performer I have worked with some great companies and directors (including the National Theatre, Punchdrunk, Knee High and The Wrestling School), which has enriched my work as a movement director. Above all I am interested in meeting the challenge of making entertaining theatre which is right for the space, the audience and the strengths of the ensemble.
Additional skills:
Butoh, yoga, music.
Industry awards:
Samuel Beckett Theatre Award

Crew:
I'm a creative with excellent practical skills and drive. I enjoy working both in front and behind the camera, and am comfortable working with both actors and crew. I have a BA in English, an MA in Shakespeare, and I trained for 2 years in theatre-making at Lecoq. I've been making fiction for over ten years as an actor, writer, producer and director and have extensive experience in script development. My script won the UK sitcom trials and my work has led to collaborations with production house Objective and BBC online. I have started making my own films, and my shorts have been successful on the festival circuit and London Short Film Festival. I enjoy supporting other other directors and being the 1st AD I want on my own set.
