Gogglebox is an award-winning reality television series that premiered on Channel 4 on 7 Match 2013. The series features a collection of British families from all corners of the UK, and shows them watching a variety of television programmes and films from the comfort of their own sofas. A simple concept, the series has since achieved huge commercial success, catapulting the format to launch international versions and win prestigious awards, including a BAFTA and National Television Awards.
The series has since launched spin-off series, including Gogglesprogs that featured children in the same format, Vlogglebox that aired on E4, featuring 16-24 year olds watching content from their smartphones and tablets, and Celebrity Gogglebox, starring famous face such as Rylan Clark-Neal, Denise Van Outen, Nick Grimshaw and Chris Eubank. Following the popularity of the show, several cast members have enjoyed their own success outside of the series, including Scarlett Moffatt, and Steph and Dom Parker.
