A global TV and cultural phenomenon, RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition television series, hosted by iconic drag queen, RuPaul. The first in the international Drag Race franchise, it is produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV, WOW Presents Plus, and, beginning with the ninth season, VH1.
The show follows RuPaul in the search for ‘America’s next drag superstar’. RuPaul is joined by judges, which has included Michelle Visage, Santino Rice, Ross Mathews and Carson Kressley. Contestants compete in various challenges each week, with one drag queen crowned as the eventful winner of each series. To date there have been twelve winners of the show: BeBe Zahara Benet, Tyra Sanchez, Raja, Sharon Needles, Jinkx Monsoon, Bianca Del Rio, Violet Chachki, Bob the Drag Queen, Sasha Velour, Aquaria, Yvie Oddly and Jaida Essence Hall.
The series has won over fans and critics alike, winning 13 Primetime Emmy Awards (Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, Outstanding Directing / Casting for a Reality Program), The GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Reality Program and much more.
