The Boys is an American television series developed for Amazon Prime Video by writer and show creator, Eric Kripke. It is based on the 2006 comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and has been airing on the streaming service since 2019 to critical and audience acclaim.
The series follows a team of vigilantes as they combat superheroes (or ‘Supes) who abuse their abilities. Set in a universe where these individuals are recognised as heroes by the world and are owned and aggressively monetised by Vought International, a powerful corporation, the shackles of superior and inferior class systems are thrown into the air where chaos and disorder quickly follow. The series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher and more.
The Boys has quickly developed a cult following with audiences across the world and it has been recognised by many awarding bodies since its debut, most notable a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2020.
