The Undoing is a mystery psychological thriller television series based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz. The series premieres on HBO on October 25th 2020 and stars Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar RamÃrez, Noah Jupe, Lily Rabe, Matilda De Angelis, Edan Alexander, Michael Devine, Donald Sutherland and more.
Centred on the character of Grace Fraser, the series explores her seemingly perfect life: from an esteemed job to a great husband and son who attends an elite private school in New York City, until overnight a chasm opens in her life. A violent death and a missing husband are just the beginning of a terrible turn of events.
The Undoing was produced by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier - Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, and Bruna Papandrea served as executive producers, alongside Kelley and Bier, with Blossom Films, Made Up Stories, and David E. Kelley Productions also involved. The series was initially set to premiere on May 10 2020 but was delayed by five months, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Receiving praise from critics and audiences alike, it was the first HBO show to gain viewership every week over the course of the season, and was the biggest U.S. show to launch on Sky in the U.K, beating the record previously held by Game of Thrones.
