The Vicar of Dibley (1994-2007) is set in a fictional small Oxfordshire village called Dibley, which is assigned a female vicar following the 1992 changes in the Church of England that permitted the ordination of women. Geraldine Granger (Dawn French) is a non-traditional, chocolate loving, rock n' roll playing vicar who takes up the post, much to the Villagers dismay.
