About me
Short description of my voice:I can use my voice for variety of purpose as I have been acting, reciting, news reading and doing VO for 12 years.
Additional skills:
News-reader, actor, journalist, dancer,
(belly, salsa, folk/line-dance and playing rhythm).
I presented a news/entertainment programme in Turkish in London.
Over the last 15 years, I have acted in two amateur theatre companies, Arcola Theatre and DAY-MER Street Theatre (Londra Meydan Sahnesi), which both have a good reputation in North London. I have taken a part in eight different shows and in three of them I was the main character. I went on tours to Edinburgh and Germany. I was a drama teacher at a community centre last year where I wrote and researched the script and directed the production.
I was part of an opera/drama which performed from 22 June to 16 July 2011, called 'The Secret Consul' directed by Steve Tiller.
I acted in a short film called "The Mirror" which was produced by IMECE Turkish Speaking Women Group. I was listed as extra for film "The Ring Cycle" Natile Dormer was the main character.
Alongside a male reciter, I recited a 50 minute poem accompanied by a classical orchestra with 35 players, at Hackney Ocean. I did another reciting with small acting movements and smaller classical orchestras in June 2010.
I have also recited poems at the 2001 Shoreditch festival from the well known Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet's as well as from Shakespeare's sonnet in Turkish.
My profession is print and broadcast journalism and presenting. I have graduated from BA TV Journalism with First Class Honours and MA Media and Communications Management from Middlesex University.
I have been doing folk dance for 5 years both in London and Istanbul.
I am a great belly dancer.
I have taken short courses of Salsa and Flamenco. I am talented for dancing.
