    Additional Skills

I have a hint of a South Yorkshire accent on account of where I grew up. However, I have lived in London for the majority of my adult life and also spent some time in Australia so I am able to do a range of British accents plus relax back into an Australian accent if needed.

I am articulate, and confident having had experience with public speaking and delivering presentations. Plus I have been recording a podcast for pupils at a local school. This has been well received by pupils, parents and staff.

To chill out and unwind I like to play the guitar, having played since childhood. In recent years I have taken to playing the ukulele. I find it quite cheerful and oddly enough my cats seem to enjoy it too!

    Short description of my voice

"I knew it was you.....I recognised your voice," is something I often get told. For some, this may make them shudder but for me, well..... I've come to take this as a compliment. Once heard, never forgotten!

My voice has been described as natural, likeable and positive. I'd like to think this reflects me as a person too.

I am a confident and engaging public speaker, having had specific VO training and having spent many years as a primary school teacher and deputy head teacher. Roles which of course come with speaking and communicating with a vast range of people on a daily basis. From delivering lessons, to assemblies and then to getting into character in the annual staff pantomime!

I have an expressive and trustworthy tone for corporate roles and eLearning. A warm and friendly voice for advertising and promos and I also enjoy bringing characters to life with a range of accents and voices, which makes for compelling audiobooks and animations.
