About me
Short description of my voice:Northern, but fairly neutral, and erring on the deeper side. I am often told I have a great voice for radio and V/O work, but I can also do a wide variety of accents and have experience performing characters (I am also an animation director).
I can easily adapt my voice in terms of pitch, tone and accent. I grew up in Yorkshire and Northumberland, and have spent much of my adult life in Oxford, London and Beaconsfield, and as such I have spent time around a bevy of accents; many of these, I have been able to practice and acquire.
Additional skills:
I have an exceptional grasp of the English language and have industry experience proofreading, writing and editing copy/scripts. I have also written scripts and directed voice artists as an animation director. Having previously been an assistant producer and having worked in various areas of media production, I also have a very good grasp of best practices and am adaptable to workflow preferences. My studies at the National Film and Television School have already taught me a great deal about this area of working. I am also easy-going yet professional, and having commissioned voice work myself, I have an appreciation and understanding of the different areas of its production.
Referees:
Emma Hanson (producer), Fabio Amurri (composer), Kevin Xang (director), Margarita Milne (director), Joe DeVine (sound designer), Miles Sullivan (sound designer), Russell Al Medenni (game designer)
Additional information:
Whilst I am new to this platform and industry as a performer, I have built up a portfolio of experience at the prestigious NFTS. Indeed, once I did some scratch voices on just one project, word got out and I have done all sorts of projects, from documentary narration to character acting. I am very keen to get stuck into projects, and have invested in a high quality home studio set-up. When things go back to normal, I will have access to world-class recording facilities at the film school. I am also a collaborative team member, and am happy to offer my thoughts and ideas to a project as required. As a director myself, I am also respectful of directors' and producers' visions, and take direction very well.
