About me
Cristina Oviedo is a professional with a passion for acting and broadcasting.
She was born in Ecuador, moved to the United States in 2001, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
She is the Program Director at HCC Radio the Dragon, and also produces and hosts Caliente, a 2-hour weekly Spanish show.
Her responsibilities at the station include working on tight deadlines, editing, researching,
interviewing, sound engineering, voicing, writing scripts, website design, staff management, music programming and the overall management of the station.
She is also proficient in operating Marantz solid-state digital audio recorders and running the
soundboard in a Mac-based recording studio.
She has also worked with HCC-TV as on-air talent for several episodes of their sports show,
Dragons Lair Update.
Through her experiences, she has developed researching and interviewing skills that she puts to use
in both her TV and radio work. She can operate HD cameras for field productions and work in a fully
operational 3 camera TV studio set with teleprompters, switch board, light grids, and different kinds of
microphones.
A high honors student, Cris’ radio and television work was the most featured among students at
Howard Community College’s 2012 Television Festival and Radio Lounge for both the spring and fall
semesters.
Graduated from Towson University in 2014 with a degree in Electronic Media and Film.
She is actively looking to enter the acting world and further her career in this industry.
She is looking forward to continuing work as a TV personality and radio producer in the near future.
