Highlights
-
John Ruane started out as a journalist for the Chicago Sun-Times, before training at the Second City Theater in Chicago. He went on to write and perform three sketch comedy revues with The Chi-Town Players. He then went on to write and perform in the critically-acclaimed "Comedy On Rye," on both the stage, and later as an award-winning film short. A reviewer from the Chicago Reader called him, "a cross between the Belushi's and Jackie Gleason." After on-camera training, he wrote and starred in a television pilot "Deckinger's Place." His first film role was in Ferris Bueller's Day Off followed by Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and The Mark. Besides his work in acting, he has written five stage plays, two films, and seven critically-acclaimed books. His seventh book, "Parish the Thought Too" was a best seller and #1 New Release on Amazon.com.
