Gerald Dewey, is a native of Dallas, TX. In high school, he was cast to perform a Langston Hughes monologue as, “Big Eyed” Buddy Lomax from the stage play, Tambourines to Glory, and that is where his interests in acting began. He quickly moved on to plays like College Life, written by Stevie Walker-Webb where he played the protagonist, Darius. He was also essential to the development of the lead character Kibosa/Patrice Gasana in 2011 Nicholl Fellowship’s award-winning script, Cutter, written by Dion Cook. In 2012 Gerald Dewey won his first award as a solo performer in a short film called, Judges 19 produced by Watchmen Media Productions. He has also been named Best Actor for his performance in, Flight Fright at the IFP Film Festival, The Phoenix Film Festival, and the Zed Fest Film Festival. As Gerald Dewey continues his pursuit of becoming a household name he keeps in mind his motto for life, DON’T SETTLE.
