About me
From an early age, I have been telling stories to anyone who would listen. Whether it was a short story typed on my mom’s typewriter, a play I forced my siblings to perform, or the chronicle of my day’s adventures at the dinner table: I've always been a storyteller at heart.
This lifelong passion found purpose during my college career at Santa Clara University in their video production program. I found that filmmaking not only gave me an exciting outlet for storytelling, but it also granted me the opportunity to work with a collaborative team of creative minds.
Unafraid of dark subject matter, I gravitate toward genre films like sci-fi, horror, and fantasy, but love any well-crafted story with rich characters. A unifying element to my work is that my films feature bold, unapologetic female leads with the strength and tenacity of a male character in female form. This is not to say that these women lack femininity or are immune to vulnerability. I always focuses on exposing the humanity and emotion of all characters, male and female alike, to reveal the heart of each story.
I have written, directed, and produced short films and music videos while also working in various positions in the film industry since graduating from college in 2006. Most recently, I worked as the assistant to the Executive Producer of the HBO series "True Blood." Since the series finale, I have been focusing on my directing career; directing the short films “Somebody’s Watching,""The Wedding Night,""OUT," and co-directing the play “The Zombie Effect.”
"OUT" won for Best Acting at the Women's Independent Film Festival 2015, was nominated for the Female Eye Filmmaker Award at the 2016 New Hope Film Festival, and was an official selection at the 2016 California Women’s Film Festival (summer). “Somebody’s Watching” was nominated for Best Horror in the 2016 SoCal Clips Indie Film Festival.
