About me
I am a Washington DC-based freelance producer with 23 years experience in Asia, Europe and the United States. My work has focused on producing content for broadcast news, documentaries and corporate clients. I have launched television programs and series, overseen special events and executed large-scale projects.
I cut my teeth in TV journalism in Asia, where I covered a variety of stories, including Hong Kong's handover to China in 1997 for NBC Asia. I also traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan-- pre-9/11-- to produce a series of pieces on the Taliban and Osama bin Laden for STAR TV.
I went on to London where I worked at the BBC. I produced everything from day-of pieces and news-making interviews, to arts features, special coverage of the World Economic Forum in Davos and the 7/7 terror attack on the London Underground. I also had stints at high-profile programs HardTalk, Panorama and The World Debate.
Since 2008 I have been based here in Washington D.C. where I've continued my relationship with the BBC and taken on other clients.
My work has included establishing an obituaries library for Bloomberg Television, pre-production on independent current-affairs documentaries, and overseeing network-wide guest bookings for the BBC's U.S. election coverage.
I am a seasoned researcher, interviewer and rights clearance/licensing negotiator. I'm skilled at directing in the field and supervising edits. I love visual storytelling and finding compelling people, places and pictures to help convey those stories. I work well independently and as part of team and always keep focused on deadline, budget and crew safety.
I also have a positive (do-not-take-no-for-an-answer) attitude and can solve problems on the fly.
