Blumhouse Productions was founded by Jason Blum and is a multi-media production company that has pioneered a new model of studio filmmaking. The company specialises in producing high-quality micro-budget films. Blumhouse has created a string of hugely successful feature films since its launch in 2000, with it hitting the mainstream with its 2007 smash 'Paranormal Activity'.

The company has a first-look deal with Universal Pictures and has produced the following highly-profitable horror film franchises:

These films have grossed more than $1.2 billion worldwide with a combined budget of under $40 million! Blumhouse's model began with the original Paranormal Activity, which was made for $15,000 and grossed close to $200 million worldwide, making it the most profitable film in Hollywood history (knocking off 'The Blair Witch Project').

As well as receiving financial recognition, Blumhouse have produced Oscar winning movies such as 'BlacKkKlansman', 'Get Out' & 'Whiplash'.

In television, Jason Blum won an Emmy for his producing role on HBO's The Normal Heart. Blumhouse has also helped produce 'Ascension' (Syfy), 'Eye Candy' (MTV), and 'South of Hell' (WEtv). The division is now known for producing high-end TV shows, including Gillian Flynn's 'Sharp Objects' with eOne. It has also branched into un-scripted TV with a show from Mike Darnell ('The Ellen DeGeneres Show '). In addition to 'The Normal Heart', Blumhouse previously executive produced 'The Stranded' for Syfy and 'The River' for ABC.

If TV & film wasn't enough, Blumhouse has also produced a variety of live-events including 'The Blumhouse of Horrors', an interactive haunted house experience in downtown LA, as well as events based on their popular IP; 'The Purge: Fear the Night' & escape game 'The Purge:Breakout'.
