About me
In 1998, Doug began an 8 year freelancing gig at FOX Sports. Doug filled in working with the Disney Channel (“Zenon the Zequel”) and various entertainment companies, cutting promos and pitching new TV shows.Cut TV promos for FX networks: 24, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me, Ally McBeal, Buffy, Wall Street, Romeo & Juliet, Stone Cold, Bachelor Party, Dragnet, Celebrity Boxing, World’s Wildest Videos, Son of the Beach, NASCAR, and Sunday Night Fights.
Moving from network promos to major studio television spots, trailers, radio spots, and sizzle reels, Doug joined the elite staff at Panopoly Pictures on Universal’s lot in 2003. There he cut home video television spots and trailers for Hulk, American Wedding, Field of Dreams, Johnny English, Barbershop 2, Thunderbirds, Cat in the Hat, Luther, Touching the Void, American Tail, Fast and the Furious, Too Fast Too Furious, and Thunderbirds are Go!
This experience spring boarded Doug into the theatrical advertising market where he spent 3 months on the campaign for “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” - starring Jim Carrey - which grossed $42 million the first weekend. Doug’s biggest claim to fame, however, was the “Spongebob Squarepants” movie. In a campaign that only finished 17 TV spots between 2 trailer houses, Paramount’s head of marketing chose 6 spots belonging to Doug out of a line up of about 50. “Spongebob” went on to gross $35 million in its first weekend.
Doug has also helped produce 8 episodes of “Infield Hot Pass” for the SPEED Channel, numerous 1/2 hour shows (“Top 25 Outdoor Disasters”), one episode of “The Swan”, a feature film called “Love Hollywood Style”, 3 short films, comedy skits including Tommy Davidson’s “Low Down Brown”, “The Tailgater” with John DiResta, “Rumble in the Salsa Jungle” with Cedric the Entertainer, VH1’s “Top 25 Sexiest Performers”, and a commercial series for Cindy Crawford called “ROOM”.
Specialties: Trailers and other means of marketing feature films.
