About me
MY EXPERIENCEI am a Producer, Director, and Writer with over 15 years of experience in the independent film industry in various departments. I have worked with casting, production budgeting, recruiting and hiring crew, scheduling, location scouting, reviewing contracts (though I am not an attorney), filmmaking, filmmaking techniques and theory, editing (final cut, avid, and primarily premiere), after effects, photoshop & lightroom for marketing materials, trailers, poster design, production design, working first hand with composers for projects, script supervision, and through my primary studies, the perception of film.
MY STORY
I began my work in the field of acting as a teenager when studying and working with Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY. Then realizing the limitations of my creativity I worked towards studying the art of filmmaking and screenwriting in order to expand my abilities. Through years of study (with business being my focus before switching to film as a major) and independent film work, necessity was the motivator for me to learn the business aspects of production in order to successfully navigate the path through any successful production. I then continued to study political science with an aim in one day continuing to study entertainment law, though my passion for film took precedence over the time that would be needed to study law fully.
MY APPROACH
I have a firm understanding of both the creative and business aspects of production, with an emphasis on quality over abundance. I always believed that there are never any limitations to what’s possible in the creation of art, and that no matter how impossible it may seem, everything is just a puzzle that needs to be solved. If there isn’t enough money in the budget, if a technical feat seems too impossible, if it’s as simple as the narrative not working, it’s all about problem solving. This is the reason why I studied and learned so many aspects of production in filmmaking. In order to always have the tools to find a solution of some kind to any and every problem.
MY TEAM
Although I put an emphasis on my own individual knowledge and ability, I equally believe that the efficiency and success of a project is based, not on just one person, but the team. Several key factors in the success of a team are having a respectful positive attitude to one another, clear and precise communication, supporting and encouraging one another in the team, working beyond what’s expected or outside one’s responsibilities when needed to ensure the best outcome, limiting any distractions to the work on the production, proper delegation of responsibilities, and most of all, starting with the right footing by carefully selecting a team that shares important goals, values, and work ethic.

MY DRIVE
What drives me creatively is my imagination, as I often ask the why, paying attention to the slightest details in life, and then I wonder what’s beyond all of it. When working creatively I always listen to film scores and classical music, where my mind drifts and I imagine possibilities, scenes, characters, places all in another place that only exists in my imagination. I use this method when writing to construct a world from my mind. I also use my imagination to picture scenes, character, environment, even slight details when reading a screenplay. Even after all of the materials and production are complete, I drift and can imagine posters, trailers in great detail to offer in order to add to the collective creativity on a project. When writing narrative stories, budgeting, scheduling, planning, or problem solving I use that same imagination, quickly seeing the different possibilities and outcomes in my mind before coming to a logical conclusion that works best.
