About me
I love films because they expand our perspective on the world and the people around us. I use composition, lighting, and camera movement to make the audience feel the emotions the story wants. I received an undergraduate degree in film history and production from Vassar College in 2005 after which I moved to Japan for three years where I worked as a news cameraman and editor. I felt I had more to learn about the art and technical nature of lighting so I came back to the States where I received an MFA in film production with a focus on Cinematography from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California in 2013. I taught cinematography and film production from removed at a United International College in Zhuhai, China. I am now teaching filmmaking at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette while filming and working as a colorist.Additional information:
I have worked with 4k, HD, 16mm, and 35mm. I have experience using Alexa, Reds, Sony cameras, BMD Ursa, and Ursa mini. My website with reels is www.bigpicturefilms.net. You can see most of my credits on imdb, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3655297/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1.
As a colorist, I am certified on DaVinci Resolve and can composite and do object removal. I can work with RAW, log, and UHD footage.
