About me
The two qualities that define me most are my work ethic and my hunger to pick up new skills. As a photographer/videographer, I wear many hats. I'm adept with cameras such as the Blackmagic, Nikon D3300, GH4, and Canon Rebel T5. I'm good with microphones (especially booms, Snowballs, and shotguns) and recorders (specifically Zoom Hn4/Hn6 recorders). I'm familiar with lights and lighting equipment such as the ION Light board, umbrella lights, PAR, Fresnel, Source 4, LED, Blizzard, Aputure, and BI-Color LEDs.
My skills go beyond hardware, however. I'm good with pre-production software such as Shot Pro and Movie Magic. I'm experienced with post-production software such as Premiere Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, and Photoshop. I'm skilled with sound softwares such as Audition, Audacity, and Ableton Live. I can even animate via software like Dragon Frame.
I always bring my skills to what I do in various ways. As a gaffer/grip under George Winchell on 'Secret Within the Sphere', I assembled lights, light stands, c-stands and frames. I gaffed curtains, reflectors, gels, and a green screen, as well as bouncing light. I wrapped and ran wires/stingers, moved equipment, and even set up the dolly/slider. Amongst other duties, I redirected and quieted crowds, as well as serving as a temporary script supervisor. Under Helena Mentis, I directed, filmed and edited video commercials used for a technology research project in information systems. Under Dustin Roddy of ESPN, I constantly gave my all as setup and utility. Under Mallorie Ortega, I sent email to backers, helped administer the 'Girl Who Left Home' Facebook page and posted official announcements on GoFundMe and Seed & Spark pages. I reached out to the Maryland Film Office to gather information for permits and called leasing companies to schedule equipment rentals. I screened first-round Hollywood actor auditions. I identified potential shooting locations, helped scout them, and offered input on their viability. I also gathered reference photos employing my own cinematic knowledge for use by director of photography when shooting.
As a former UMBC student, I also served as treasurer, editor, secretary, and vice president of several hobby/liberal arts clubs.
Personally and professionally, I always go the distance.
