About me
I am a broadcast technician with over 30 years of experience. I am presently employed at the United Nations Broadcast Operations Center, on a freelance basis, as a technical director, ENG cameraman and control robotic cameras for Security Council and General Assembly meetings, as well as United Nations daily press briefings.I am also freelancing as a director for media tours and live streaming productions at Neuehouse Studio in New York. I assist clients with booking satellite time, light the sets, control robotic cameras and direct the tours ensuring that the client hits all its tour windows on time.
My recent experience also includes working as a freelance Technical Production Manager at MSNBC where I was responsible for the technical aspects of airing daily live newscasts for the cable network. My position there requires booking remote broadcast facilities, satellite uplinks, crews and checking the quality of the signal before it goes to broadcast.
Previously, I was employed at Media 3 Ltd. in New York as Director of Technical Operations where I directed satellite media tours and multi-camera live streaming events. Duties included: studio set-up, lighting, robotic camera control, audio, pre-production for these events and resolving fiber and satellite connectivity issues during the tours. Some of clients for these media tours include: NBC Universal, Sony Pictures, Fox Entertainment, Penguin Books,
Random House, Novartis and Pfizer. My position there also required robotic camera control of local and remote liveshots for networks such as CNN, ESPN, CNBC, MSNBC, Bloomberg TV, Eurovision, TV Tokyo, Reuters, Al Jazzera and the BBC. As Director of Technical Operations, I installed and tested video and audio routers, monitors, switchers, audio mixers, video recorders, cabling and terminations.
I was also responsible for installing Media 3 Ltd.’s Bureaucam robotic camera control system for such clients as: Oppenheimer Funds, CIBC, Wells Fargo, Forbes, FTN Financial, UBS, the New York Daily News and others. Duties required working with the client to choose an appropriate camera location, power requirements, cable pulls for system installation and guiding the client through the process of installing a TV1 fiber optic circuit with connectivity to a local switch such as Encompass or The Switch. I also provided system training and customer service support for the systems and worked as an exhibitor for the product at the NAB trade show.
My greatest strength has been my experience performing a variety of video production jobs. Past experience also includes producing, directing, ENG/EFP, editing, studio set up, lighting, newsgathering and documentaries. I am dependable and always looking for ways to improve my skill set and learn more. I would like to find a position where I can best use my years of experience.
