Death stalks a medieval village as four men attempt in various ways to unmask the killer.

A masked murderer stalks a small medieval village, bringing death to all - old or young, innocent or guilty. As the body count rises, several people try to discover the truth behind the killings: LUCIAN, a grave-robbing alchemist, who investigates while harboring a grudge against the very people he means to save. AMBROSE (Reiner Prochaska), the pious priest, who comforts his flock but believes the deaths to be God's wrath, cleansing the earth of sinners. SIR MERRICK, a chivalrous knight, who arrives from afar and seeks out the killer for his own honor and glory. GREGOR, the town's sheriff, who must deal not only with the killer, but with the town's increasingly panicking and paranoid citizens.
