Bridge for Seniors

2014, 120 minutes

A group of eccentric seniors transform as they come together to play bridge.

Bridge for Seniors is the story of eight eccentric seniors who come together weekly to play bridge. Ever helpful, ever thoughtful Lionel runs the group and is the glue that keeps it together. His little brother Jack is a loveable scoundrel who shows up more for the ladies than for the game. Lois, who plays in tournaments, takes the bridge club and everything else very seriously. Jean has a simple mind and a heart of gold. She is looking for friendship, or at least a nice selection of member provided snacks. To Betty, all the world is a stage, while to Naomi, all the world is shit. Mike and Mona rarely speak at all, yet for some reason they are always seated near each other. Over the course of one week we see into the personal lives, the memories and the subconscious minds of these eclectic eight, who, if it weren’t for the game of bridge, most likely would have never met. Yet, through their interactions, each character goes through a deep transformation. Together and through a comedic clash of character, they must each face their own strength and weakness, mortality and everlasting essence.
