Citrus Springs

2015, 82 minutes

When a masked killer begins to terrorize the small town of Citrus Springs, a reluctant psychiatrist and an inexperienced police detective must aid each other in catching the killer, and restoring the American Dream once again.

A PSYCHIATRIST IN THE QUAINT SUBURBAN TOWN OF CITRUS SPRINGS, Jean (Christa Campbell), longs to move back to the big city with her teenaged-son in order to recapture the life she once had. But Jean’s plans are put on hold when a masked murderer begins rampaging through the town and killing innocent families with no obvious motive. As the town falls deeper and deeper into hopeless paranoia, Jean reluctantly teams up with freshman detective Brandon Stiles (Jesse Luken), a small town cop and ex-patient, whose only lead is, McKinley (Nicole Smolen), a traumatized teenage girl suffering severe PTSD, who witnessed her family’s brutal murders. Jean is faced with the daunting task of helping McKinley remember the horrifying details of the night that changed her life and to hopefully aid Brandon in an investigation with little to go on. But when McKinley makes little progress, it puts Jean and Brandon at odds. After a young woman goes missing, Brandon insists Jean and McKinley work together through the night as the traumatized teenager’s recollections may be the only hope left for the missing woman and citizens of Citrus Springs. Finally making a critical breakthrough in the wee hours, McKinley gives Brandon enough of a lead to set things in motion. As the case comes to a head, the town isn’t prepared for the shocking discovery that once threatened the quiet serenity of their American Dream.
