From Baghdad to Brooklyn

At the height of the war in Iraq, tens of thousands of Iraqis were fleeing the country each day. Among them, Mohamed, a 24-year-old man from Baghdad, was forced to flee his country to Syria where he and American journalist Jennifer Utz cross paths. Drawn into the whimsical world he creates to escape his harsh reality, the pair form a unique friendship and the line between filmmaker and subject become blurred as Jennifer becomes determined to help him start a new life. Both Mohamed and Jennifer become entangled in a journey that at times proves to be more than they bargained for as dreams are built, illusions are shattered and one man tries to attain the 'American Dream'.
