Alan is thrown out of his girlfriend's house when she gets pregnant, and travels to Connecticut to live with his uncle Edmond. Edmond and his wife Joy are struggling with Edmond's infidelity. Caitlin, Alan's girlfriend joins him at his uncle's to discuss the pregnancy outside of the influence of her evangelical parents.
