Letter to My Children

2018, 15 minutes

Biography of the Korean patriot Lim Cheon Taek.

In 1905, Korea was plagued by famine and under threat of foreign invasion. Lured by a fraudulent ad, 1033 Koreans boarded a ship to reach what they believed was a promised land, Mexico. Among them were Lim Cheon Taek and his mother. After years of harsh labor, the Koreans couldn't return home as Japan colonized Korea. Lim moved to Cuba where he continued to support for Korea's independence and built a legacy for his children to follow. 112 years after Lim left Korea, his great-grandson, Nelson, visited Lim's cemetery, now relocated in South Korea, to pay tribute to his great-grandfather.
