A short documentary that follows photographer Oana Hogrefe as she dedicates her one day a year taking 'remembrance photos' of a child nearing the end of life.
“Matthew’s Gift” follows photographer Oana Hogrefe as she dedicates her one day a year taking ‘remembrance photos’ of a child nearing the end of life. Because families normally cannot afford such a service, Oana offers a free photography session as a ‘gift.’ Matthew, the boy she photographs on this day, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor. This is also the first time Oana brings along someone to assist her with a session...her daughter, Mary.
