The Process
2016, 20 minutes
What would you do if you saw your best friend throw someone off the bridge?
Alex, our protagonist, is a British roofer working in LA. It’s a gritty world, not the Hollywood, Los Angeles we see in films, but the reality of mundane LA we live in. My take on the city is darker, a little more noir, but rooted firmly in the world we live in. The story moves between suspense and dark comedy never allowing you to become completely comfortable. The Process is a short story in it’s own right, but it is also a proof of concept for a larger feature film project. The film asks a simple question: How well do we really know anyone? We believe and tell ourselves that we know our friends and family, but ultimately, do you ever know what anyone is really thinking?
