Idiom Talent Agency

I sent numerous requests for representation by agents via the Mandy Network. I was contacted by Idiom Talent Agency and was told they would like to represent me. They said they liked my materials I sent. I was thrilled but I had a few questions for them. They have never replied to my calls or e-mails. Has anyone had the same situation with Idiom. There is some internet reference to they being a scam. Please comment if you have any info.

I switched from them to Mandy. I had great audition opportunities but never once heard back from anyone. I read a review from someone who is a working VO talent. They stated they were with that agency for a year and never once booked a job.

Hi there, Idiom contacted me about 2 years ago to represent me. Shortly after I was signed, their website became inoperable, and none of my emails or phone calls were ever returned when I reached out to ask why, as their website was how I was to obtain jobs. Then they created a site that I had to pay for, about $15/month and forced me to use that since I was "under contract" with them. I tried to get out of my contract multiple times as they were deceiving and did not hold up their end of the bargain one bit. They finally released me after I reported them to the BBB. They stopped charging me the $15/month, but refused to refund the money I'd already paid. Idiom is an absolute scam, beware.

I received an email today giving me a glowing review on the auditions I'd sent them. I too was skeptical due to the requirement to join a third-party service provider. Still doing my due diligence as I'd like to put this to bed one way or another.

They asked me 4 times to submit a reel after the first time they asked. I’m not expecting much.

I got a return correspondence from them also. I discovered that they make you subscribe to a third party site for auditions but the trick is that they actually own the third party so you’re essentially paying them for representation

I've been with them for a while now. The CEO of the voiceover division is Shane Cormier. I email back and forth with him regularly.

To Michael LaPres:
In the time you've been with them, how many jobs have you booked? I'd appreciate your honesty. Thank you.

Martin;
I'm not getting booked anywhere actually except for an audiobook that turned out to be a fraud. I've been shortlisted several times on there but if the question is if the jobs are real; yes they are. But I haven't found them posted to apply for anywhere else. One of them that I applied for popped up on YouTube a few months later and some more in other various spots.

I am actual represented bi Idiom, they send me great auditions on a weekly basis, the problem is them getting back to you, I have been with them for a year now, and I have gotten major hits from my auditions, but I have been wanting to know if I peaked any interest, I have been shortlisted on some major projects but never hear from anyone.

Idiom charges for their services, so in that regard, they are not a real agency. Real agencies will NEVER charge you. They take a percentage of the work you book.
Everything I ever hear about Idiom is that people do get auditions, but I rarely hear about anyone actually booking with them.
And the message they send to everyone is the same.
I think they are to be avoided.

I am at my wit end with them, I sent them an email never heard back after being signed with them for a year and a half, shortlisted on major projects, but never hearing back, so I am taking my auditions, making a new reel and finding a better agent.
