1Starr Enterprises?

What do you know about Austin-based 1Starr Enterprises, which just posted very low-paying VO work ($50/hr) on Mandy. They claim to do a wide variety of media and management consulting work; however, they are not in the Austin BBB though they have three positive reviews (planted?) there. Seems slightly fishy but I could be wrong.

I've tried to find anything negative about them through Google but couldn't. I've received a follow-up from them saying I can proceed further through the application process.

I just tried to sign up with them. The sign-up form asks me for my cup size.... for VO work?!?

I sent them a note asking why do they need my cup size for VO work. I've not heard back. I won't hold my breath for the answer.

So here is the response from "my cup size" inquiry....

Bill Brobeck: In that application form's drop-down menu for "cup size" I noticed that they suggest "n/a" for males. (That's a relief considering my unimpressive pecs.) They don't explicitly offer in the app form the "n/a" option for other non-VO-relevant body measurements such as waist and hip size, and I had wondered how they'd respond to skipping those items, but it's a relief to learn they would accept this. The next challenge is convincing myself that their $20/hr offer (reduced from the $50/hr they offered just a few days earlier) is worth lifting a finger for.

$20 is pretty low.... Also consider the line in the 2nd email: "If you feel that you cannot handle this part of the audition process, please let us know so that we can give your spot to a more serious candidate."

Heck, I'm a struggling rookie in this biz, but seriously.... that's pushing me towards the door all by itself.
