Job briefWe are shooting an independent feature film this spring 2021 and are looking for an experienced first Assistant Director/ film loader to support the director in departmental planning and monitoring progress on this project. You will also be working to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.This is a 1970's period piece set and shot in NYC and the right candidate will need to be based in NYC (or surrounding commutable cities such as Philadelphia and New Jersey). Ideally we need someone who is familiar with European film standards and who can speak French. This is not a digital project as we will be working with super 16 film. Rate is $300.00 per day.ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the departmentWork with the director to coordinate and supervise daily operationsEnsure compliance with regulations and internal policiesLoads and unloads film magazines, as directed, prior to and following photographing of motion-picture scenes.Monitor attainment of objectivesUndertake staffing responsibilities (hiring, training, evaluating etc.)Assist in budgeting and monitoring expensesMaintain scheduling of events and represent the company when neededCreate reports and submit them to the director or other executivesFulfill duties as assigned by the directorRequirementsProven experience as assistant director or other similar positionExperience in performance and operations managementKnowledge of relevant regulations and quality standardsKnowledge of European film standardsProficient in MS Office, relational databases and software (e.g. ERP)Outstanding communication and public speaking skillsSuper 16 film knowledge is requiredMust be fluent in English; ability to speak French is a plusExcellent organizational and leadership skillsAptitude in problem-solving
