    The Executive Director is the managing director of our Theater, and provides strong innovative leadership to the organization. The position serves as administrator to the theater and will assure that the mission and financial sustainability are secure. The position reports to the board of directors of the not for profit organization. The director will form a collaborative relationship with staff, volunteers and other community partners to assure success. The position is responsible for day to day operations, community involvement, building awareness of the theater throughout northwest Michigan, and promoting the theater as a regional asset. The position will assure the operational and fiscal integrity of the organization and will operate within the policies and strategy set by the board of directors.Leadership and operational responsibilities include and are not limited to:Leadership:Ensures adequate staffing to meet operational needs in an efficient and effective manner.Hires and manages staff, reviews performance and assures successful operations.Serves as spokesperson for the theater and forms collaborative relationships with related partnerships.Articulates the mission and strategy of the theater with all stakeholders.Operates the organization to assure compliance with not for profit requirements.Operation and Facility ManagementArrange year round movie schedule and appropriate financial report to studios.Manage and maximize concession inventory and revenue.Schedule theater for concerts, lectures, community fund raisers, weddings and other special events.Maintain rental calendar, collect deposit and balance payments and complete contracts for all renters.Assure theater is maintained in good condition, including utilities, cleaning and maintenance needs.Assure payment of all bills and other financial obligations.Provides security and organizational support for all events at the theater.Recruit and manage volunteers as needed.Financial ResponsibilitiesDevelops annual budget for the organization.Presents monthly financial statements to the board.Presents monthly utilization reports to the board.Assures that all required federal and state reports are filed timely.Develops a plan that assures financial stability for the theater.Programming and Marketing ResponsibilitiesImplement strategic plan developed by the board.Develop community partnerships where appropriate and coordinate events that promote involvement.Promote the theater throughout northwest Michigan.Create and promote destination events for tourists and local residents.Maintain year round operations.Develop and implement successful fundraising programs as needed.Develop annual film festival and other events that support the mission of the theater.Implement creative sales programs to promote the theater as a venue space.
