Responsibilities:Copy edit a wide variety of stories, from 300-word news posts to 10,000-word longform features, adhering to Eater styleCopy edit social and video copyHelp maintain and manage house style for Eater, updating the style guide as neededWork with the senior copy editor to create resources and one-sheets for the editorial staffCommunicate frequently with editors and reporters, answering queries over SlackRequirements:At least one year prior copy editing experienceExperience working in digital mediaFantastic organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projectsThe ability to work quickly and accurately under pressureA strong eye for detailFluency with online publishing and organizational toolsFamiliarity with AP StyleStrong written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamAn interest in conscious copy editing and an understanding of the importance of language when covering topics like race, labor, and immigrationFamiliarity with and interest in the topics covered by Eater is a plusFact checking experience is a plusThis role is a part of the Vox Media Union, represented by the Writers Guild of America, East
