    SOUND INTERN    



    I. POSITION OBJECTIVES: To provide excellent assistance in the area of Sound design and implementation for productions, rentals and special events. To assist with day to day facilities operations and maintenance. To be an active member of the Production Staff, assisting in the areas of set construction, painting and/or properties as capable.



    II.       POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

    Recruited by:   Executive Director

    Salary/Benefits: $1000 plus $300 monthly housing stipend

    Full time salaried position; schedule will flex between daytime, evening and weekend hours depending on ECCT production schedule Position runs January 31 or sooner if possible- May 22, 2022



    III.       POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

    Reports to:    Executive Director

    Supervises:    Community volunteers

    Coordinates with:    Sound Engineer, Production Manager, Volunteer crew heads



    IV.      POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    ·        Working toward BA/BS in Technical Theatre, Lighting or Sound Design, Tech Ed or related field desired or comparable experience in the field

           Strong knowledge of theatrical sound reproduction, design and implementation

    ·        Knowledge of sound effects software and use

    ·        Knowledge of theatrical style, conventions and terminology ·        Strong oral communication skills

    ·        Background in or appreciation of theatre

    ·        Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with volunteers ·        Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

    ·        Strong organizational skills and highly motivated with strong work ethic

    ·        Ability to work with minimal supervision



    V.       PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND SAMPLE TASKS: ·        Provide sound design and implementation for all ECCT spring productions including Disney's The Aristocats, Disney's The Descendants, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, And Then They Came For Me, The Rainbow Fish, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley and The Complete History of America Abridged,

    ·        Assist with sound for special events and rentals

    ·        Supervise volunteers on work nights

    ·        Serve on the running crew for shows
