Our Theatre, which owns its 1926 historic theater, renovated in 2008, produces a winter festival season with four operas in repertory from January to March, and a fall season of varying size. Fall of 2021 has one opera, running for 6 performances. Throughout both seasons, Sarasota Opera offers additional special events and concerts. Position SummaryThe Wig and Makeup staff is a seasonal independent contractor who is responsible for construction of wigs and application of both wigs and makeup for Sarasota Opera’s 2021-2022 season. The season encompasses four main stage opera productions. The wig and makeup staff will be involved with all aspects of the operation of the wig and makeup department. Including preparation of the wig and makeup shop for the season, building / styling wigs, application of wigs and makeup for each production, wig maintenance and end of season strike.
