The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts at James Madison University is seeking candidates for a Technical & Operations Coordinator. Reporting to the Production Services Manager the position provides production support to School of Music classes, performances, student recitals, guest artists and professional dance, theatre and music touring companies. The position works closely with staff, faculty, students and guest artists and interacts with members of the public. The coordinator must present themselves professionally and courteously to all individuals and be able to conduct their work with discretion and diplomacy.The position requires variable work hours including evenings, weekends and extended shifts. The work environment is often fast paced and deadline driven and the coordinator must be able to prioritize and multi-task.The Forbes Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2010 and the 175,000 square foot facility houses five venues which serve as educational spaces for the Schools of Music and Theatre and Dance and provide the city of Harrisonburg and surrounding communities with access to student performances as well as world-renowned guest artists and touring productions.
