Our editorial strategy is a dynamic team of 20+ curators, on-channel marketing strategists, and copy assassins. The Copywriter will work most closely with our Senior Copywriter and Copy Editor and report to the Director, Editorial Strategy (who is also our Copy Chief).The ideal candidate’s superpower is effective short form writing — in English and Spanish. You’re an outside-the-box thinker and tinkerer who knows the value of eye-catching copy. You especially thrive in a structured environment with tight deadlines and even tighter character counts. You naturally keep tidy to-do lists and have a firm adherence to SOPs. You consider diversity, inclusion, and representation in everything you write. You’ll fall down almost any entertainment rabbit hole. You love language. You prefer teams rather than playing solo.The Copywriter’s primary duties will be writing and editing for HBO Max’s in-app messages and other curational copy for the app, including Spanish-language text.The DailyAs Copywriter, you will:Take point on our in-app messaging copy. You will work closely with our on-channel leads to write catchy, exciting messages directly to subscribers, integrating larger copy and on-channel team feedback to ensure these notifications are aligned with the HBO Max brand voice & tone as well as other cross-functional texts.Write and collaborate with our multi-cultural Communities team on LatinX and Spanish-language campaigns, to help build and service our audience.Communicate copy learnings and data to the wider copy team and Editorial teamWrite and edit other Editorial Team copy — from internal briefs to in-app collections pages —to fit our product components.Help enforce and establish new standards in the Editorial team’s Copy Guidelines.
