    Our Media Product will be launching a transformational new content product created for a broad consumer base and we are looking for a seasoned content/editorial lead who is tremendously creative, relentlessly entrepreneurial, and who has a strong and proven track record as a journalist and an inspiring operator. The Executive Editor will drive decision making, planning, and launching of new content/editorial concepts, franchises, and enterprise journalism for the new PEOPLE consumer product, and direct the day-to-day production of several different content types (article, photo, audio, etc.), overseeing a dedicated team of writers, editors, producers, both staff and freelance. This content lead and the team will work closely with and rely significantly on the current integrated editorial/content teams across the PEOPLE brand, including but not limited to magazine, digital, TV, video, and audio. The Executive Editor will also work in close collaboration with the Product, Consumer Marketing, Growth, and other leads and teams to imagine, conceive, and build an exceptional content experience for the new content platform as well as reimagine it constantly based on data-informed testing/learning, and a deep understanding of audience signals and consumer behavior and trends. This role will report to the General Manager of the PEOPLE consumer product with editorial direction from the Editor-in-Chief. The Head of PEOPLE Digital, and other content leaders at the brand will also be key stakeholders. This is a key member of the leadership team for what is essentially a startup venture within the company,, and will require a high tolerance for change and dynamism, as well as the ability to accomplish enormous amounts in an ever-evolving environment. Essential Job FunctionsAccountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable ResultIdeate, assign, edit, and produce daily content for the new consumer productLead team (both full-time and freelance) across all content types and formats, Prior to and following launch, communicate progress on hiring, planning, and content strategy to GM, executive/senior stakeholders regularlyDefine and re-define content strategy on an ongoing basis, informed by research and insightsOperate within designated budget and direct planning around future content investmentsBroadly speaking, measurable results will include audience acquisition, retention, and engagement metrics, as well as business-level results around budget, timing, and revenue
