    The deputy digital editor at our website helps to oversee a range of editorial online content and helps to manage the daily processes of the editorial team. Their editorial beat will center primarily on core parenting content, so should have a strong knowledge of the subject area, as well as considerable experience with optimizing content for search traffic. The role leads a team of editors and freelance writers and reports to the Digital Content Director. The deputy editor helps manage the editorial team and ensures the digital workflow and execution of content among all Parents.com staff and stakeholders is smooth.The deputy editor is responsible for developing, assigning, and editing content that is in line with both brand identity and strategic business goals. The deputy editor needs to be detail-oriented and thrive off creating and facilitating process and organization for a high-volume, high-velocity editorial team.The ideal candidate will feel extremely comfortable using analytics and SEO best practices to help guide content creation and hit KPIs, will have excellent top editing and writing skills, and a passion for everything parenting.You will:Assign, edit, and publish a regular cadence of core parenting service stories (upwards of 30-40 a month), SEO updates and other parenting content as needed.Act as a liaison with the brand SEO strategist along with overseeing the SEO editor on the team, helping identify on-brand opportunities and ensuring monthly optimization goals are met.Manage several direct reports and communicate tasks and deadlines clearly with all members of the Parents editorial team.Recruit freelancers and assign stories that bring perspectives and voices to the brand from contributors from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.Manage the digital editorial calendar in Airtable and oversee digital workflowsHelp ideate, assign and edit and manage execution of special editorial projects, tentpoles and packages.Assist as needed with producing sponsored content and work with the sales team to make sure those stories are well executed.Manage an editorial budget and commission content within said budget.
